"Not sure if you can recall. We did talk a year ago about Colnago CX that I bought from a collector in US. The one that is claimed to be the first Colnago Oval CX made by Ernesto himself and it has no serial number. Due to extended custom clearance process, I just got this bike few week ago.As promised that I send you some pictures of this bike as you may want to write about this bike on your blog. Please let me know if you want any more pics or info.
Thanks."

apologies,I saw pics when I posted,not now
what it relates to is an apraisal i did a while back on what is purported to be the 1st oval cx, hand made by the man himself
"Hi,I was told by the previous owner that this Oval CX, together with another including Arabesque and others were all trade show bikes that were made for the Paris, Milan and New York in 80's. After the last stop which was New York, these bike were not shipped back to Italy but sold to a famous bike shop in New York called Conrads, located in Manhattan which was an upscale bike shop. This might be because Conrads bike shop was a major importer of Italian bikes to US at that time but I am not sure if this bike shop is still existed. There was a guy bought these bikes from Conrads and sold them to a collector that I bough this bike from. Actually I also bought the Arabesque that was also from trade show from him too. I asked for documentation of any of this. Nothing left to today but this collector confirms that everything he told me is true.
PS: I am told that this Oval CX is the first gen. Its seat lug looks different from the later gen. It would be best if you can help me confirm this."
poss the first (no paperwork) oval cx, unpainted with no serial number

Ha! No worries, what a great looking bike! Thanks for sharing.
Also, love the "collector confirms everything he tells me is true" bit. I'm going to remember this perfectly valid argument for future use.
