There's always one - whilst mine was a less than decent experience, you're obviously significantly better versed in matters of this nature.
It's just an opinion though - I genuinely don't see what the fuss is about.
I'd only buy one for investment purposes, because as you prove - there are always fans.

and with one sentence you completely discredit your earlier, reasonable assertion.

I just don't rate them. They're painfully overpriced for what they are.
Nice to look at and a great commodity because of their fanbase.

I rode a Master Olympic for ages and it was a decent enough, but not mindblowing. I would agree with you that their fanbase elevates their reputation (and then price) above any objective measure, but you think Woody Harrelson is cooler than Wesley Snipes so what the fuck do you know?

further more, I do wonder what model you actually had, as the majority of steel colnagos are made with lugs, so unless you have x-ray specs, you cannot see welds

Woody's a far better actor.

Blue straps make it

Although, if they hadn't been blue the builder might have gone with tan leather, which would have been worse.

The colour of the straps really doesn't matter with that wrap and saddle: it's already fucked.
At least they distract from the front wheel though.
