For me the disk wheels ruin it.

Yeah. Tbf any shallow silver rims would also looks noice. The mismatch discs where you can see the spokes through the rear disc really just look crap.

These are not spokes but where the kevlar foils join each other. The front is the same but sadly someone painted it :(

Bianchi is so nice. The thing in the book would be nice if it was not in the book.

Not particularly attractive in the flesh and with the extensions, shifters and brake levers that are missing in the OP added in (though massive frame and wrong wheels don't help).

You're right; that is horrific. Also the tanwalls and the gloss paint really hurt it further.
Very disappointing. -

Seat post looks different too?

..so basically ugly as fuck.

Well yeah. Don't really understand why there's that photo in a mag/catalogue considering it's an incomplete build.

We couldn't be bothered to develop a proper external steerer fork, so we'll just stick a plastic fairing over the brake and hope nobody notices

Aren't fairings against UCI rules?
-
• #92346
On the one hand, yes:
1.3.024 Any device, added or blended into the structure, that is destined to decrease, or which has the effect of decreasing, resistance to air penetration or artificially to accelerate propulsion, such as a protective screen, fuselage form fairing or the like, shall be prohibited.
On the other hand, there is clearly a secret protocol by which Bianchi & Pinarello can have their brake fairings passed, but Cervelo, Giant & Specialized can't. Far be it from me to suggest that Italian bicycle manufacturers get an easier ride from the UCI Equipment Commission, which is made up entirely of Europeans.

Wht the main disadvantage? The fact the fork could have been more structurally strong if one piece and the steerer tube thinner?
-
• #92348
I think the thing that ruins it most there is the Dura-Ace. And the enourmous size. I don't mind the glossy.

Exactly. If you make a proper external steerer fork (hinge, bayonet, whatever you want to call it), you can reduce the diameter of the pivot shaft and with it the headset bearings and head tube.

Makes sense, just checked and in fact the tube is 1 1/8. Shame
I don't think I've ever seen such a paint job before. Looks amazing.
