well, the second is an unusual early '90's pista and bar tape away, and the geo is a dream pista in a rare decor, dif components could sway it, as pat posted-controversial

That Dream pista is a mess: grade A paint-porn fucked-up by someone who didn't know when to stop and whose last build was a Nineties MTB.
Paint like that, needs a neutral build to let it sing out, not anodised shit to confuse and distract the eye: you don't hang the Mona Lisa against Paisley wallpaper.

Preach.
An orange and chainset has no place here.

Honestly I've never seen a Colnago Dream Geo that doesn't hurt my eyes and feelings.
However's built. -
• #90409
the geo was not limited to the dream alone, master, c40, c50 and eps models came in that decor, I saw an old rider on one in Holland, I am uncertain as to why this decor ever came in to existance, the wikipedia colnago team sponsorship listings make no reference to a geo team
master geo decor with subtler components
dream cx geo decor, again with the subtlety -

all bar the wretched blue tyres -

Sorry I forgot about the other models with Geo paintscheme... Still, one of the worst Colnago decor... together with the Futura.

both ''strong looks"

With the exception of the one which the would-be pornographer failed to bartape, these Colnagos are a carbuncle on the backside of humanity.
Sorry, lost a Campag chainring bolt this morning and am angry with the Universe in general.

That is very special. Shame its not a Master

The GEO paint scheme is a true representation of how Colnago has touch all four corners of the world with their passion and dedication to cycling. The GEO is a classic 90's paint scheme. It was originally introduced on Colnago C40's and later in CT-1's.
Just an ugly "limited edition", no teams involved apparently.

the whole nadir-la carrera/futura thing is quite strange
futura was an o.g. new york graffiti artist, who even did an album cover for the clash back in the day, and later worked with james lavelle and dj shadow with their 'unkle' project,
he made the 'pointman' fiqure (i haz one boxed) which was an adaptation from his nosferatu figure (i haz the maharishi one, boxed)
the master roadie Nadir was asking $110k was the prototype for the pistas, he/they "found" 38 in a warehouse, and if truly a "find" would probably been the highest yielding ever-37 pistas x and average $12k, then add the $110k from the master prototype
i am unsure as to wether or not Futura would be classed as and ''urban artist" like Banksy or Space Invader, he was involved with an "urban" clothing range,(futura was a courier also, on pista perhaps given the reference here to "..not brakes")
but his work has never yielded the amounts of others
given the interest in urban art, perhaps it is a little "emperor's new clothes " spin like what shepard fairey and banksy managed with their project "mr brainwash"

no teams involved apparently
this just reiterates what i have already said
-
• #90418
I don't think that Nadir "found" any of these bikes - it was a collaboration with Colnago as far as I am aware for the re-launch of the Master Pista in 08.
-
• #90419
you may be right, i was told they were found, but they came from a warehouse still ) they were released for look mum no brakes exhibition, i discussed whether they were a find with the pro's closet, who never said anything contradictory
i contacted Nadir regarding the roadie here
38 frames in all in factone does tend to romantise things!

"After the art show 33 of the frames found new homes, including the home of cycling enthusiast Robin Williams. The remaining 5 frames disappeared into the dark corners of Veltec’s warehouse, the US importer of Colnago at the time. When the Veltec warehouse closed in 2011, we purchased what according to our spreadsheet were 5 “custom painted Master Pista frames”. When the frames arrived we realized that we had just unknowingly stumbled upon the luckiest find in the history of The Pro’s Closet. ""
pro's closet 'found' 5, sold at approx $14k each, still a high yielding find! -

Last time I was at Nadirs place he still had a couple...at least 1 of each of the blue and dotted track frames. Although it has been a while since I left TO, not even been to his new place, who knows if he still has any of them.
I was just looking for some photos from his space he had between the two most recent iterations of La Carrera, but can't find anything, like a grotto filled with gold plated campag and custom painted Colnagos.

Too many spacers, external battery, 24mm cranks in a frame designed around a 30mm BB standard.
I wouldn't say no, but...

I think it's nice seeing a top end Dale with Shimano in the seemingly endless sea of SRAM-equipped ones
but not porn...
