I guess when people buy CX bicycle, they almost never intend to race on them.

Purpose-built to tackle the rigorous conditions of the wet, cold, and muddy cyclocross races
This is designed for races though.

What? Have you watched any Cyclocross?
It's full of all kinds of bikes, from 'purpose-built race rig' to 'beater'. What it isn't full of is fucking twats saying, "No sorry, you can't enter this race, your frameset has bottle-cage bosses."Who's this?
Oh look, it's Professional Cyclocross racer Julie Krasniak competing in a sanctioned UCI Cyclocross race on her Team-issue Focus Rapha Cyclocross race bike.
Hello, what are those bosses on her seat-tube?Later that night...

Gaston's creation is insane good.
With the funny colourful rubber-thingies on the bars and that radial front wheel it looks a bit like you're driving to the circus, but fuck me that's a hot bike!

Ah, gotcha Ed :)

Shit, sorry chaps, especially Mr B - didn't mean to cause a storm. Obviously, the Cielo is an extremely nice bike. I suspected they were aimed more at the do-it-all and gravel scene - but of course - you can race what you like. The geo from the photograph struck me as interesting and combined with the bottle bosses made me wonder what CK are really going for with it. If they were aiming for 'rad' then they hit the mark.
Anyway - via Amey:
Usual apology in advance if it's a re-post. I can live with the gold chain.

Mr B - really enjoyed that rant. 10/10 for passion, and extra marks for siding with the 'bikes are for fun' contingent.
RE: Cannondale - shit chain, shit chainrings, shit wheel decals and I'm not particularly hot on the paint.

Yerr but they're racing cross in Merica, which we all know isn't real cross because it's not mainland Europe where they're really good sooooooo.....

Serious.
CX race only bikes, perhaps. Even then, not an absolute rule.
The rest of us can feel free to throw on some 28s and fuck off up into the mountains on tarmac, taking in the odd trail if we like. Whilst hydrated.
I asked Sean (the owner) about his Cielo, and he said...
"The Cielo is the stand out nicest bicycle I have ever owned. It can easily replace a road bike. Make it whatever you want it to be (its just a tire swap away from road dirt or both!)"
