The only time that bike should be on a fire road is when it's on the back of the uplift truck

on. It.
Ha, cheers

I think the Cannondale looks great.
Moser is super, too, needs drops immediately though imo.

Isn't it an
enduroOverMountain bike?I seriously seriously do not get this thread sometimes. That 'dale is probably a perfectly decent bike, but stems that stubby are out of proportion and ugly, as are lop-sided lefty forks. And it's not even clean.
'Dale thread, functional bikes (I am sure it is very functional for what it is designed to do) thread, let's offroad thread... but porn? seriously?
If you don't know about mountain bikes, then don't comment on them. I don't like old road bikes but I can appreciate a good example of one when I see it, so I don't comment.

Isn't it an
enduroOverMountain bike?Precisely - technical trails up and down. Fire roads for social climbs where if you spin out it's a clear indication that you are heading in the wrong direction...or the uplift.

Ah yeah, fair point. I get confused with all the mtb terms these days, not sure what bikes are allowed to ride where.

• #85458
But Fire roads form part of most Trail rides, surely?
-
• #85459
Fire Roads uphill?? easiest way to gain height. Look at the Welsh trail centres..

ur doin it wrong

BPW has a technical climb to the top. The fireroad is hideous, but steep enough that no, you wouldn't run out of gear with a single small chainring.
Anyhoo the Trigger is pron, MTB is fun, more bike pictures pls.

You've earned it, kid.
Moser is super, too, needs drops immediately though imo.
Best thing about that Moser is that if Thrust sticks some drops on it, all he needs is an extra set of purple strong-V's for extra matchy matchy.

... Is porn simply "that is a bike I lust after" [irrespective of whether it is f'ugly]? ....
I'm inclined to go with this sentiment. If lust is involved. Aesthetics are interpreted differently by everyone so no point getting hung up on colours etc.
That Cannondale MTB certainly makes me lust after a new MTB of some kind, not that one, but something similar. And I like the dirt - I'd much prefer used bikes rather than just wall hangers.

Me gusta
Had a blast on one of these last weekend on a demo day.. It was a blast apart from the shock(suspect it wasn't set up right) making strange gurgling/cavitation sounds.. The lefty felt great too.. The best bit was the sram 1/11 :)

never a lefty fan, but it is worth watching the Jerome Clementz test

Still laughing at "and it's not even clean"
It can't be porn, someone actually rides it!

A+ trolling by Jeez
My main MTB does not deserve to be in this thread one little bit, but if that 'dale deserves to be here then I ought to post mine every fucking page. Where mine pisses on that fucking horrid cannondale (from a porn point of view) is that the paintjob is nicer, the forks look nicer (better logos and not lopsided) and match the rest of the bike.
Trigger is Marmite, that I can accept. It's also a technical tour de force. Lefty is Lefty because it performs better than a traditional fork. Stubby stem is stubby because the geo of the bike demands it.

I suspect you are looking at it with the same kind of tester eyes that looks at anything other than a Cervélo TT bike and thinks 'stupid'.

Can someone please post a picture of that Cannondale again please?

Porn is just porn Jeez. Aesthetic/ function/ fashion/ whatever. No need to over analyze it.

• #85472
Not trolling, genuinely confused.
Why do you have to be told what to think?
I like Lefty forks, in fact the only Cannondale forks I really don't like are P-Bones and Pepperonis. Personally, I find most MTB suspension kit quite ugly, and Cannondale found a way to either hide it (Headshok) or make a statement (Lefty, which looks way slicker than something like a USE S.U.B.). I don't ride squish MTBs so I mostly just care about what they look like.
Mind you, I think the Honda RC30 is a really cool motorbike, so what do I know. -
• #85473
By that criteria we should merge the porn / anti (very functional if you're locking it up) / functional and rat threads.
Surely you can tell something that looks porn from a rat and a functional bike? And, for example if a functional bike is anti..
Arguing on the internet with Jeez. HEEEEELLLP!

• #85474
EG. I think the Lefty (in its top of the range guise) is porn because of its tech excellence and debatable aethetics. Also I think it is very desirable. You might disagree.
And thats the fun of arguing sweet bollox on this thread!

I thought schools had all gone back this week?
Yeah nice, but I cant see past that that tiny chain ring and the 42-11 (?) on the back. Still doesn't look proper to me. I'd be spinning out on a Fire Road.
