The Crux at the back? Might be Dan's (who I think you're referring to) might I don't think he'd put such an abomination of a stem on his. He was racing at Ally Pally yesterday though.

I thought it was build really well, right down to the saddle angle even.

Big gearing thought.

It does looks nice, the frame is really ratty now. And those are HF Macks, lovely.
The gearing looks big indeed, but the rear looks like 19t or similar, so not that big after all. And it deserves a full Record Pista, somehow never had time to complete the group once it was mine.

tight clearance on the downtube, tyres mismatched because the bigger one wouldnt fit on the front? It's a pretty frame but not really fit for purpose.

Awful build but that frame has potential. Not to everybody's taste but early Crabon can be cooked into a lovely niche bike. See the Corima Bat bike knocking about on lfgss.
