Shimano or Campag victim
give me 5 reasons why it's that bad

You'll want to delete that from this thread and put it in one of the threads where posting your own bike is acceptable.
-
• #80756
Does that front door lead straight to anti? Cos I see the bike's made it there already. At least it's quick.
-
• #80757
That's complete bullshit...
Coming from you I'll take that as a compliment.

There is a time trial thread for the Javelin somewhere. Chainring like buzzsaw come to think of it looks like it might be ridden by Dynamo?

Not sure about the choice of bar tape.

The whole front end looks off.. multicolor headset needs to go. Silver ritchey stem+bar+nice silver headset would improve it imo.
Also front qr fail

• #80762
What's wrong with the qr?

Although Sheldon say
"General practice is to install the skewer so the handle is on the bicycle's left side. Thus, the right side is secured by the acorn nut that threads onto the opposite end of the skewer."

^^ um, not sure if serious. No it isn't.
The direction really doesn't matter, so long as you can grip it and things aren't going catch and open it.

No, front qr is in the ideal position.
As for front end looking off, try a smile. It's a cross bike.

• #80767
I'd thought that they put it there because it's standard practice to, as well as matching the rear QR location.
-
• #80768
I put my rear one at about 11'o'clock as then it is safely tucked between the seat stay and the chain stay.
At the front I like to use an internal cam type because the offset lets it go just ahead of and parallel to the fork leg.
A lot of my mates think I am very sad - especially combined with things like putting the valve stem in line with the centre of the tyre logo.
-
• #80769
Im sure ive read a rule someplace the front QR should face directly down or up?

Those sort of thing make repair so much easier to locate and find the cause of puncture.
Mind you, making sure the tyres is aligned to the valve, and then pay a mechanic to fix puncture seemed rather odd.

• #80771
I have never paid to have a puncture fixed! I do not however reuse punctured tubes on road bikes.

Used to be up as seen in campagnolos emblem but its more areo having it paralell with the ground in the front. In the back it should be at 45 between stays.
"should"
-
• #80774
'Fail' was an overstatement. Just prefer the qr being in line with the forks.
It's still a beautiful machine.
