    The direction really doesn't matter, so long as you can grip it and things aren't going catch and open it.

    No, front qr is in the ideal position.

    As for front end looking off, try a smile. It's a cross bike.

  • I'd thought that they put it there because it's standard practice to, as well as matching the rear QR location.

  • I put my rear one at about 11'o'clock as then it is safely tucked between the seat stay and the chain stay.

    At the front I like to use an internal cam type because the offset lets it go just ahead of and parallel to the fork leg.

    Those sort of thing make repair so much easier to locate and find the cause of puncture.

    Mind you, making sure the tyres is aligned to the valve, and then pay a mechanic to fix puncture seemed rather odd.

  • I have never paid to have a puncture fixed! I do not however reuse punctured tubes on road bikes.
