  • What tyres on the enigma?

  • ^^ That's absolutely spot-on, right down to the cages. Nice flooring too.

  • Valve caps?

  • What tyres on the enigma?

    Challenge Criterium?

  • What tyres on the enigma?

It looks like Challenge Strada or Criterium. For sure Challenge

  • damn that's nice.

  • that room is almost nicer than the bike

that room is almost nicer than the bike

can we PLEASE not start this again

  • I would get black chairs and skip the marble countertop but the rest is in my top5 rooms in this thread

  • MTB pedals >>>>>>>>>>

  • I will never understand the problem with putting solid, easy to use pedals on an otherwise top-end bike. Similarly, you might want to run slightly fatter tyres if you knew you'd be riding in certain conditions.

  • Indeed, and I've run ATACs on my road bike in the past, but this is the bike pr0n thread.

  • A powerful argument for using a SRAM 10-speed MTB rear dérailleur instead of the road one.

  • I'm confused, is it currently road or MTB?

  • Road. Force.

  • It's road, the cable doesn't have to do that big loop with the MTB dérailleur, it is particularly neat with cable run down the seat stay, but it's still an improvement with road frame chainstay cable run.

  • The Type-2 derailleur might be a benefit on a CX bike too. X9 is about the same price as Force, but X0 DH would be my first choice for road/CX as it's designed for a 28T biggest sprocket.

Where/how to place a barrel adjuster?

  • In-line next to the head tube, where you can actually get to it while riding.

Do those things really work as well as one on the RD?

  • Yes. Also, if you're a Shimano or Campag victim, you might not have realised that SRAM RDs don't go out of adjustment every time the cloud cover changes,

  • it's true - they are reassuringly solid and reliable. Especially in crap weather.
Though IME the standard SRAM cables seem to stretch much more in the first 5-700km than Campag or Shimano do. Means a bit more fiddling initially but once it's done it's done and set.

No, I have a Sram road rd and have been tempted to switch to an mtb one for the neater cable routing, but I've been put off by the lack of a barrel adjuster.
