If you're going to paint over any logos, start with the Lightweight ones

^Always wondered why people hang shit from their saddles.
Anyone care to explain?

good luck charm/superstition

It's for swag.

Hipster affectation.

It's a pull cord. If you ride up behind them and yank it, that winds them up. And charges their iPhone.

Hanging a cork from the saddle in cycling vernacular dates back at least to the 1920’s 6-Day Bike Races. When a champagne cork is popped, power is released and no more oomph or energy. So, dropping your cork or having no more cork means you’re out of it, pooped. Ergo, the racers would hang a cork on their bikes so they’d never be out of cork .. Anything else hanging there is just hipster affection ..

Parlee is nice. Love that colour

Fuck it, I'll do it myself then...
I would say that even with Gatorskins, this fully deserves to be in here.

how is this standing up?

Magnets?
-
• #79017
Don't you see it's leaning on the arm of the Eames chair?
-

Judging by the carefully arranged designer/hipster/yuppie paraphernalia in the background I suspect the owner is no stranger to Photoshop.

Why potatochop out the rest and then add a toe strap to hold the wheel in place?
-
• #79020
I think the strap is another deliberate affectation, intended to make the owner look like they know what they're doing. I might be wrong, the owner could be pounding it round the track every week, but it looks like a bit of a show pony in that pic. Very nice though, of course.

Not porn for me.
-
• #79022
Here's the previous setup. And apparently it's been ridden on the track too.
-
• #79023
really? Have we got to the stage where any clean-looking track bike without silly components is porn? There's nothing about that machine that, for me, is particularly interesting either in terms of aesthetics or engineering.
-
• #79024
I mean, I can wrap bars and glue tubs without them looking completely shite but it doesn't automatically make my bieks porn. That's not even a good example of the framebuilder's craft to use the vernacular

Obviously this bike is being held up by the collective good will of the denizens of this forum.
