Pedals indeed. Road bike with Atacs is not pr0n.

I've got no info on the bike, only pics - but have some close-ups anyway.

Yep, definitely a new group on an old frame. I'm not bothered about the pedals, I have spds on my mid 90s road bike because they are convenient and comfortable. pedals might be Anti porn but are just a sign that the bike is used, which makes it a nicer thing in my eyes.

You should see some of the other stuff he has. He has some clout with Cervelo and for gravel riding has a couple of the special 'mud' versions of the R3 built for Paris-Roubaix that take bigger tyres.
Edit:

Pretty much the ultimate in mamil porn. Just needs a slightly longer headtube, and internal routing for an electronic gs.

The wife's hire bike in Como turned out to be one of these - came very close to putting an offer in for it at the end of the holiday. Ti stem, seatpost, Dura Ace... yes I know it should have had Campag but my god it was nice. Should have gone for it.
Where did you hire in Como?

Oooh lovely. What year is that?
Looks like a late '70s Super Compétition, possibly a 1979 PXN10E as it has fully chromed forks (the earlier model had half-chrome forks). All 531. So yes, a lot older than the group.
Some more Peugeot info here by the way: http://www.classicrendezvous.com/France/bicycles/Peugeot/PX10_history - I'm not a buff, I only recognise it because I had a PKN10E frame that I did a bit of research on.

Thanks for the info. I think the group looks good on it. I would love an old Peugeot, my first road bike was a peugeot 'prologue', early 90's cromoly thing, entry level frame, but really solid and also red and yellow which is fastest.

This was the frame I had - it was NOS: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/rql4r8f90dphjzw/NoD2bwAlYA
I never built it up or rode it and it ended up surplus to requirements and I eBayed it (I'd love to see how it ended up getting built, though it might have been fixeh'd to death). I did have an '80s Pug Triathlon, lugless (internal fillet) 501 tubing - it was pretty light but flexed like crazy. Was quite fond of it though.

for me its more about mismatching the purposed bits rather than look of pedals:)
personally imho the build is nice enough itself, and I am loving it even with slightly younger gruppo and pedals - it was the porn thread spirit talking through me.
thing about groupsets is that there is a certain period range groupsets from which still work on older frames as long as they are silver. -

Love the idea of those Cinelli's. But I'm yet to see an build that actually looks really good.
Nice parts, but just looks a bit odd.

(probably a reep but deserves to be)

there is a guy who rides one of those XCR Cinelli's that I've seen a few times in Regents Park - and we're talking a real, grown-up person sized one.
God damn those things are nice.
