Chain needs a good coupla links removing an all.
S'nice though.
I doubt it, the dérailleur has to accommodate another 20 sprocket teeth from where it is now.
I understood that the rule of thumb should be;
With the chain the largest front ring and the smallest rear sprocket both jockey wheels should be in vertical alignment with the centre point of the hub.
Like hereOr is this some other nonsense because it's an MTB drivetrain?

I understood that the rule of thumb
That 'rule of thumb' is bullshit whether we're on road or MTB.
-
• #77607
Rule of thumb being the set up stipulated in the Shimano tech sheet.
-
• #77608
The 'rule of thumb' is given for dérailleurs operating well within their limits, and is immediately followed in the Service Instructions by the correct method of setting chain length which will work for all installations which are within spec, and for Campag and SRAM as well as Shimano. If you're only going to propagate one method of setting dérailleur chain length, it might as well be the latter.
