Yeah i run a front brake, you need one with the hills round Manc way. I've done 150 milers on the track bike. So guess i could take it touring. Fancy something where i'm fairly self reliant though. Bivvy bag is a possibility i guess. Wrong thread anyway. Someone post something droolworthy.

oh, you mean the spacers? well that looks like straight from Matt (the builder), so I am going to risk saying he didnt cut the steerer because it wont be him riding it.

And the stem looks shorter than it is because the bars are turned towards the camera a little, notice the way the hoods don't line up.

With a horizontal top tube the head-tube needs to be smaller to reduce chance of balls hitting top tube if putting feet on floor, that means either spacers or an angled up stem. Of course if all really depends on teh shape and size of the rider and whatever works for them rather than following any rules around how a CX bike should be setup.
