love that build and love the drop outs, i'd have that any day. this is the weather to be off the road....
Speaking of drop outs anyone seen those traitor make? (check the close up on the little cluster of pics on the left) they are lovely.
I have been pestering them for a while but they don't sell them no their own!!! FOOLSLaser cut drops (with holes) are weaker than solid ones.

"the Lollobrigida project is the result of a lot of nights dreaming of the ultimate racing bicycle in a postnuclear apocalyptic world, where there's nothing left but remains of what in another time was a perfect tarmacs and squared cities world....."
I just tend to dream of boobies and whatever I last saw on telly :(

that bike is stupid, its designed specifically for those tyres yet there is very little those tyres would be good for other than cruising around.
Fair enough if its just a bit of creative fun, but I dont think its thought out properly.
Have you seen some of the stuff that cyclocrossers can ride through? at speed?
they dont need 2"+ diameter tyres, far better to have something much thinner and much more knobblier.
People rave on so much about fixed gear & being at one with the drivetrain, well hookworms arent designed to be light they are cheap BMX street tyres. So that will always be a heavy sluggish ride.
That Amaro has a little bit of mud on it and you're all assuming it's some kind of XC bike. My fucking road bike is dirtier than that thing. Maybe it is a road cruiser and he happened upon some mud.. omg better pack up the ti machine and jump in a car..
(not just talking to you dfp, don't take it too personal :P)

I now see the Amaro dude has spoken anyway. I would fucking love to ride that thing to work.. it'd eat up the bumps on the way in! If only I could leave it knowing it'd still be there on my return.

I have a tyres that's pretty much the same as the Mavic Hookworms one, but a different brand, it's incredibly comfortable at any speed, but no matter how much psi you pump up the tyres, it still a really slow tyres.

You should try commuting on downhill tyres.. I made more noise than passing trucks.. vrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrvrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Aaargh.......there's little I can offer in the way of road tyre advice, but when it comes to MTBs I've researched and experienced loads. Hookworms are amazing looking tyres, but unless you're jumping big stairs or doing massive urban drop offs they bring vey little to the party. They are hardcore street tyres, nothing more, nothing less. They look purty, and certainly suit the bike, but in pratical terms they are, as Mr Smith says, an exercise in vanity. There are better high-volume, grippier and more importantly, lighter tyres out there that would do a better all-terrain job than they do. WTB Mutanoraptors and Weirwolfs are two that immediatetly spring to mind. But go ahead, let how the tyres look cloud judgement and forget how they would actually perform
Bike looks amazing, all credit to the creator, but the tyres are a white elefunk. But not white.
And that is all I have to say on that matter

Both of which are MTB XC tyres and completely naff if the bike gets most of its use on the road with occasional jaunts on some oooh nooo muddy tracks. 700cx23 can still be used on a lot of rough shit.. eg. whoever was riding a track bike around the trails during the SSWC03! It might not be the best choice but you hardly need to go for knobby stuff if the trails are easy. So mtb'ers stop suggestion mtb tyres :P

I think the point is that hookworms would be poor road tyres, and yet the bike is not really designed for off road duties either. Dont get me wrong, its a dick load more inventive then any of my bikes (my post apocalypse bike is a hybrid FFS). My inner bike nerd just says nah.
(NB 700x23 would in fact be better on rough shit than hookworms, as they would cut through it better)

the other fat tyres that would look great is those Specialized Fatboy tyres;
