The shape look much more comfortable, plus it does make it look more Madison than Sprint.

That Merckx is perfect as it is. Petty i dont like riding without gears cause the bikes can be made looking so damn nice!

here's a perfect example of a Madison racer using normal road bar (the rider slingshot the other to gain speed).

knowing that made me happy as that Merkx is the nicest fixed wheel I have seen in ages

I think the fact that the stem and bar have a matt finish completed it perfectly.
