  • What was the original user name?

This makes me re-consider getting ride of my Kona Explosif. It looks for more MTB than CX in its geo.

    This looks so fucking great.

  • It's pretty much exactly the bike I want to build.

    What's the frame?
Edit: http://www.44bikes.com no price yet, likely $2000+

  • That CX/mountain bike/awesome is total lushness.

  • did i see this going through kingston today ... or this bikes twin??

WiFli cassette with short cage Rival RD? Would be better on several levels with X7

  • doesn't single ring make a difference though?

iF IT'S STILL AVAILABLE WHEN PAYDAY COMES. . .

  • doesn't single ring make a difference though?

It makes a difference to total capacity, but not to maximum sprocket. If the Rival is made to shift at all onto the big (32t ?) sprocket, it will be too far from the small sprockets to shift optimally in the high gears. It's probably worse with SRAM than with Shimano, due to the lack of a B-spring.

Aside from providing proper shifting all the way across a wide range cassette, the MTB dérailleurs have a much cleaner cable path, which I'd want even more on a CX bike than I do on a road bike, and I think my SRAM road bikes would be better with X0-DH short cage dérailleurs.

  • I'd have thought the X7 would also have a stronger springs and more tension (helping keep the chain on). Rival is an odd choice.
