A Trek and a Specialized?

Had a good look into these. I want to fit a 6 speed setup using 9 speed spacing on my Pompetamine and figured they may be okay with the reduced travel but over all the other faults, I can't see how you cproverb use the brake lever from the hoods. Can't believe they have even bothered to market them.

Nicest post I have seen in a long while... reminds me I need to get back on with restoring my "show" bike.

Some people love 'em and have ridden them to victory in elite level races. Apparently.
So they can't be all bad. Worth reading the response to the review from Retroshift's Adam in the comments.

Fair enough. The review was that long I hadn't bothered to read any of the comments. Still doesn't really mention braking performance from the hoods though. I ride tektro R200 levers and when I use them from the hoods, my top finger sits just below the pivot. Can't see how the shift levers don't get in the way when they're in this position.
Other than that, I really like the idea for what I want to do. Might have to try one. -

When they cost the same as legit campag levers (in the UK at least) I'm not really sure what advantages they bring.

Where has this been all my life!
Looks like my ideal shifter setup.

Why not, Ed Furrball?

I run the Tektro R200 levers already and I want to be able to switch between single speed/fixed and a geared setup easily. For me these would offer that with a quick swap of a lever blade. I know what you're saying though. Can't see them being popular with many people.

I see what you mean. I guess your other other option is bar end or a band-on dt shifter.
Now that is nice.
