  • Yeah looks very sexy and so practical, apart from maybe the saddle-->hood drop, that's a lot of weight on the hands if you're going touring?

Otherwise it is lovely and I wants it

I'm assuming the owner has long arms and it's a pretty short reach for him, looks comfy as fuck if you are tall enough!

'course it is, it's motefuhrkcing spatr('s) bars, innit?

It is my bike yes, and I am rather tall yes, with rather gangling arms, I don't find it uncomfortable at all.

  • Nice sugino chainring you got there...

Is it my imagination or has she got enormous hands?

  • Is it my imagination or has she got enormous hands?

Question is. Is she even the one holding the chainring?

  • Re?

  • Is she even the one holding the chainring?

    You're thinking of this?

  • Re?

    many many times

  • Still.

  • many many times

Having said that, this is the first time I've noticed that the bars are joined at the top.

  • Why is that?
A more normal position for slowdown laps?
Or, more likely, solving rigidity issues?

  • Jason got given a blank canvas on this 953 track frame.

  • Want.

  • I would have thought having that bar across the front of the bike would have been detrimental to the aerodynamics...

  • I would have thought round tubes, high spoke count and low rim depth would have been detrimental to the aerodynamics...

    ftfy

Aerodynamics was a science almost unknown to bicycle engineers back then.

  • Jason got given a blank canvas on this 953 track frame.

Brian was given detailed instructions on our 753 lo-pros, all from one drawing, and they were all different when delivered. Things have obviously changed since those days, when Rourke meant great frames and an iffy paint shop.

Also, why would you even paint 953, and what's going on with the chainstay?

  • I saw those pictures!!! quite funny actually

Excuse the noob question, but why wouldn't you paint 953?

I see what you mean, I can only assume the chainstay is still wrapped in masking tape...

  • why wouldn't you paint 953?

The two things we know about 953 are:

    1: It's stainless
2: It's the lightest steel tubeset in current use

Those being the case, why would you plaster 200g of paint over it?

  • Those being the case, why would you plaster 200g of paint over it?

Because it looks awesome to the average cyclist who probably wouldn't know the difference between tubesets

  • If they had gone to the trouble to find a custom builder, decide the right design for their riding, gone through the process of getting a fitting, decided under advisement and paid the astronomical sum needed for the 953 tubeset, I'd have bloody well educated meself enough to know it looks better nude (even though I can't afford any of this, I still know)!

  • love them kleins

I'm not sure that any frame builder would actually advise somebody to use 953 for a track bike, so we're already into vanity project territory anyway. If you're going to paint it though, you might as well save yourself £800 and get 853.

  • who's jason?
