The perceived problem there (I think) is the use of 1 1/8" stem on a bike based with a 1" steerer tube and can look too bulky. Either get a matching sized ahead stem or carefully choose either a skinny or a colour matched 1 1/8".

I think the Bob would suit some nice carbon forks better, based on the rest of the build.

Does not automatically mean that everything that went before should be binned off and replaced with ahead though,it's all about what's appropriate in the context ;)

In the circumstances, what's appropriate is a new fork. Putting an AHead stem on an adaptor is close to being the worst of both worlds, so the bike should never have been transferred to here from anti-porn where it first surfaced.

it needs a carbon fork and hand made tig welded or fillet brazed 1" ahead stem, lugged stems just look way too posh

ITM Eclypse AHead 1" came in silver or black, would seem to be the right choice since a: it would fit and b: the Eclypse was a great stem. Deda also made some nice steel AHead stems back in the day.
