  • those bars and shifters do not look good together

  • yes, I prefer old school

  • you would have thought they'd have implemented a 'period correct ' stem set up for an 'anniversary' piece

  • my own humble effort
    ( to show perspective ;-) )

  • you would have thought they'd have implemented a 'period correct ' stem set up for an 'anniversary' piece

It is period correct, that period being now

  • mmm

and you're posting it in porn, yourself, right? well done

  • Seemed like a fair use of the exemption permitting readers' wives to illustrate a point

  • and good morning to you too, MT

  • Nice, I've got the same Concorde frame and a Veloce groupo is on it's way! I acctually wanted some Shamal-ish wheels, but the one's on the pic also look very good :).

  • It is period correct, that period being now

Well it's pretty far from being modern and if it's a special piece you would have thought they could have used some imagination.

The reason the stem looks so out of place is because it's a massive inelegant 1 1/8" style stem on a 1" headset and forks.

A much better move would have been to use a 1 1/8" headtube and commissioned a set of custom stems - there are plenty of nice boutique stems out there. I guess it just comes down to how much ITD you want to go into as a manufacturer.

  • ^ Which you'd think someone like Colnago would have gone into that level of detail, especially to celebrate their own anniversary!

I think a quill is the only thing that would look properly in place on the frame.

    my point exactly

  • A panto'd crank bros one would look the shit.

  • Okaaay...

What brought up panto'd Crank Brother stems?!

  • they should stick to sails I reckon

  • Those Neil Pryde frames are really nice in the flesh. I thought they were a bit 'meh' when I saw pics, but in person they are really nicely designed and finished.

  • the unused cable hole spoils the finish though

  • Too excited to check if it's a repost... amazing.

    ended up looking like this...

  • those bars and shifters do not look good together

agreed, looks terrible. I have tried riding with a similarly set up cockpit and it is also extremely uncomfortable.

  • I thought they were fine.

It'd be a bit of an issue if you have large hand and end up taking up the space on the shifter and the bar.

  • But Ed, your thoughts are generally in direct contravention to most other peoples. We are not discussing functionality but porn here, and it fails.
