  • One of the nicer pieces unpacked from this

theres plenty of bike porn here-
    http://www.lopro.blogspot.co.uk/

  • Thank you.

There is a lot of cheeky banter here and most of it is fairly honest, in a humorous manner, but some people can be a bit rude.

I'll listen to constructive reasons, as there are some people on here who really know their stuff

Cheeky banter is fine, but from my experience it works best if you actually know the person you are slaughtering.

and do you mean contructive reasons regarding on how and what to post on these threads? Surly, bike knowledge wise there is too much 'banter' about to take anything serious. And who are these people that know their stuff? Are we talking professionals here, like Olympic track riders, custom fixie shop owners or long working couriers? Please don't tell me it's the free time amateur who reads a lot of banter infested threads and blogs.

This is the sort of humor on the forum that I appreciate! "Yeah, I'm a cunt... and?!" Its a lot easier when dealing with people who openly admit to not quite taking themselves too seriously, God knows I don't!

Anyway, all this is just too post modern. Not taking yourself too serious is wisdom. Not taking anybody else to serious is simply ignorant. You got it right anyhow. Thanks for making me feel somehow welcome.

To everybody else: Are there any more girls up for a bitch fight or am i the only one here?

  • ^ T'is a shame about the stupid wheels, but lovely settings for it.

    ftfy

  • ^^tl;dr

To the first point, very true, and I guess it is something you only learn once you've been on here a while as to who knows their stuff and who's talking utter shite. But as a rule of thumb, always listen to MDCC_Tester, the guy's like a walking cycle encyclopedia! His technical knowledge is rivaled only by my winning charm! ;P

    To the second point, Lol!

If people are being idiots and ignorant themselves, I prefer to laugh than get pissed off, but I do take people seriously for the most part, kinda hard not when I've been offered and received so much help from this forum.

You are indeed welcome, it's always cool to see new people who are passionate about a subject you're passionate about too.

  • too bad these nice pics will soon turn into links - please post then up to 1024px width

btw, is that an original fork? why is it drilled? nowhere else i see any signs of "time-trialing" nature of the frameset rather than pure track

  • zeus needs to slam that stem and bartape

  • Is this underwater?

  • not sure about the wheels and the framing

  • ^^
/thread that bike wins the game

  • this is nicer:

  • ^True, merckx and trek in the background look nice to

  • I don't understand the front wheel on the red Casati ^5. On a dished rear, it makes sense to have half as many spokes on the non-drive side and the groups of 3 are logical, but on an un-dished front the total tension to each side must balance within each group of 3, so the lone spoke must be at twice the individual tension of the pair? Do they use thinner spokes for the pair to balance the strains? It just seems silly.

  • i think it is symetrical just looks funny from this angle

  • Potato chopped the Zeus better... that bloody stem and hill was killing me.

  • Best decals ever.
    Shimano Santé?

    Errr....

  • Hey that's really nice.
Didn't realize these were bonded alu frames a la vitus/alan.

I'm guessing you're a doris; how many PM have you had saying stuff like,

"Don't take it too seriously ;-)"

    and

"It's just banter. Where do you live? You should come out to beers and see we're not that bad"

Yeah, I was confused by this as well. Doesn't make sense on a front wheel, surely.

You can see that the single spokes alternate sides, to even out the numbers of spokes on each side, but I can't fathom why you would group the spokes in threes instead of having even spoke spacing in a conventional radial pattern.
