The M71’s predated the original offering from Look by a few years, but because it was necessary to push a release lever by hand, they were never a practical proposition for massed start races
It's a TT bike, the M71 wouldn't be much of a problem. I can't remember the last time I had to unclip during a race, and anyway with clips and straps and slot cleats, you had to flip off your toe straps to get out of the pedals anyway.

Actually the pen was made as the pencil tips would snap off and would eventually cause damage to the electronic systems. Also, NASA didn't put any money at all into the development of it, in fact they were given some to try out after they were developed.
You failed to mentioned that pencil carried the risk of the graphite breaking and spilling around the cockpit in zero gravity thus could potentiality damaged sensitive equipment.
Hence ball point pen.
Thanks for clearing up that urban myth. That fork is still fugly as though and massively over complicated. No place for it in porn >>>>>>>>>>>>

What size wheels?
Is that a coaster brake, and did it come with the wheels? The reason I ask is that it looks very small/thin. Whereas the one I have is quite fat.
Hah, that jan janssen is mine. Went with a black seatpost to balance the fork. Decided the bike was too dark so have been rebuilding it with white Cinelli tape (and grammo stem), white Flite for a saddle and some challenge forte tires. Will post in CP when I get to it.
Not sure what to do with the seatpost, nice (and long) 26.2 mm silver seatposts are hard to come by.
