Far less dangerous if you live in a flat country, and are riding with others who are used to riding in a group and are on similar bikes/gears.
i will go with that

no no no, long rides are perfectly doable with brakeless... I don't understand this "No brakes, can't be ridden further than the park" mentality....
I don't get it either, people who say you can ride longer and further on gears clearly don't know that if you keep pedaling and pedaling on fixed, you can go as far as you want.... -

and as you can't stop peddling it means you are forced to go forever. Perpetual motion.

Or if you learnt to ride in hilly country.

I'm saying its dangerous not impossible
3 of us 7 riders who took the long way from stuttgart to barcelona (1514km) rode brakeless, all those up and downs. just a note.

If I was in a chain gang moving at speed I would not want some one riding fixed brakeless behind me, in the same way I don't appreciate a guy on gears sitting on his tt bars behind me. That is all I am saying on the topic, I am sure there are a great variety of situations where it is fine, however I think as it doesn't effect performance what so ever why not be safer..

I understand why not brakless, but why this?

no brakes but (s*)he can't even use their legs to slow them down in an emergency

No it isn't. Found it on Retrobike, didn't know how to post it so uploaded it on my Flickr.
this is the thread:
http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=200401I like the fact that it looks like a factory model but has modern technology due to it's Athena 11 speed.

good then you wont mind me commenting on how crap the cabling is
-
• #63243
haha, nope. I didn't even notice that. I just really like the bike. But you're right about the cabling.
-
• #63244
Man :( Now I can't look at it without looking at the cabling :(

Turn up to your local chaingang brakeless and see if anyone will let you on their wheel. Most of them will have ridden a track bike at some point so understand what's involved.

Really nice.
The wheels are a bit shouty but I'm sure they ride well.
