↑↑If they are Vittoria, they are the SC (Servizio Corsa) version, given the gum walls.
Have you ridden these Tester? What are they like?
hmmm, they look a bit tractor ish.
fugly
lugano's are like riding on ice
worst tyres ever.
I have been looking into the whole gumwall clinchers situation - seems like the options are:
Challenge criterium - mixed reviews
Vittoria SC evo's - pricey and nice but seem to be for racing
Micheline Pro Race 3's - come in 'ivory' sidewalls, which is near-ish to gum. Mixed reviews re: their puncture protection.. although you can get a pair for the price of 1 Vittoria, so maybe worth a punt.
Veloxflex - expensive, cut up quickly and very little puncture proctection -

I've just got the challenge criteriums for my road bike, seem very nice so far, but haven't had the chance to put any real miles down on them so time will tell how good they are.

^Dear god, where?
-
• #62112
Have you ridden these Tester?
No, but I've used the Open Corsa CX which is very similar. Some comments in the P-R coverage at the weekend suggested that the SC might have a slightly more supple sidewall than the CX, probably due to the thinner clear coating on the SC relative to the black 'paint' on the CX.
In the end, you have to decide what your tyres are for - if they are for riding, ignore the colour and get the most suitable tyre, and keep a pair of Corsa SC for concours d'elegance where you can carry your bike from car to display area.

Didn't feel confident with the puncture protection when I tried these. Look amazing, nice to ride but punctures can do one.

Lol - exactly.

My feelings exactly.
Think I'm going to get another set of Michelin Krylions - the last pair lasted 00000's of k's, reasonably grippy, low resistance etc etc. £40 ish for a pair too.

Loving this an awful lot.
I remember way back when this was first posted online hoping it wont end up color coded "tastily" by some clueless rich guy
any pictures of the build anywhere?

Nice apart from the stem. Faux quill can gtfo
-
• #62122
faux quillness aint that bad. Im hating the stem because: 1. it is painted white 2. stem-bar combo and not separate 3. only keirin grips

Is it not cloth tape?
Bar/stem is stupid. Unless you've ridden the frame (or one with exact same geometry) extensively and dialled in the bar position then surely it's a guess at best if they are at the right angle.

As Feathers are all custom, I assume the client will have had input on the bars?

Thank you for actually having the sense to point this out. What in the name of jaysus are the rest of these demented shams on about with their craic? Bar/stem combo is ultimate sex and this is quite obviously a custom build so it quite obviously fits the owner. Also there is absolutely nothing wrong with faux quill stems, you get increased rigidity and they still look cool. It's actually the best of both worlds, just prohibitively expensive as it has to be made to fit the exact steerer tube on a specific frame... Noobslol.
