love it, but although I love that saddle its so wrong on that build. Suede concor or corsaire...

That Davidson is lovely. Great mix of componentry (don't mind the saddle tbh)
First time I've seen polished 1st gen ergopowers. Visually it definitely pulls their design more into the C-Record realm.

Just why don't people take the time to tighten!
Because unless you are some stupid fixie kid, you'd know that having a tight chain is slow and wears out parts quicker.
Loose chain = fast chain, particularly on a proper track bike.

A chain that is too tight yes, but a chain that is correctly tensioned does not have to look like it is actually too loose. THere is no benefit in a having a chain so loose it can almost fall off is there...
I tension my chain to the same visible amount at the Rossin in above post but is perfect and has no tight spots so why have it any slacker.
And before you say it, I am a little bit too old and wise to be a stupid fixie kid.

My post was directed at JordanCarroll.
Too many kids (and I've noticed it a lot on this forum in particular) call out "slack chain" when the bike, in fact, has correct chain tension.

That vintage TT is the shizz.
It looks nos... -

Of course, one could argue that on aesthetic grounds a reasonably tight chain is more pleasing, so it's more than fair game to call out a slack chain in the p0rn thread. Notwithstanding, that lo-pro is feckin lovely.

I've been called out before on a chain that appeared slack to me and apparently wasn't, although I wasn't informed why.
But that attitude of yours can fuck off regardless of whether your 15 or 80, knowledgable in all things bike, or not.
This is porn, not a group treatise on the mechanical differences of slack/tight chains. It looks less aesthetically pleasing, tighten the fucking chain.P.s. if that is your bike in your profile pic, with risers and spokk to boot, you can definitely just GTFO you stupid fixie kid

As this canard gets trotted out on a regular basis, it's only sporting that I should forgive you for falling for it, and give you a chance to get your slide rule out to calculate the tension on a chain under typical pedalling loads. If you still think your transmission and bearings will suffer more from a little static tension than they do from the huge working load, and furthermore that the damage caused by excessive backlash is of no concern, then do please go on letting your chain adopt a pleasing catenary curve while parked. Chain manufacturers will thank you for your regular custom.
A tight chain feels slow on the workstand, because spinning the cranks with one finger doesn't impose much load, but once you stand on the pedals you'll find the bottom run has plenty of slack.

My dream bike. I have seen it in the flesh. I know where it lives. It will be mine...
And some people may find this useful...

Ha! I forgot about that picture.
Anyway, I'll keep my mouth shut now. One last thing, tightening a chain because it looks better in a photo is just plain dumb.
