Good way of being able to tell if it's being used or not.

I bet that's a new bike in prep for Gabby's new CX season.
-

It's a pro bike. So new, unused and photographing it when spanking new (and writing an article about it) was probably part of the deal. And just common sense.

That's a Raleigh? Shit branding
What brand is this bike? Race bikes are rarely shot directly side on when in action, that Raleigh down tube logo might show up pretty well in 'real life'

bru, you haz see?

question should be, why are those shorts so, well, short?
-
• #52860
^ That brand of shorts are quite short I found. Not a fan personally.
^^^ I now see your point but then a CX bike is going to get covered in crap, especially the down tube and especially during a british CX race. Also how often are people going to see a picture of someone lifting the bike over hurdles in comparison to a picture of someone riding the bike.

but who gives a shit about that, it's all about the advertising shots.

FWIW, the first time I looked at the Raleigh pic I sussed out pretty fast that the downtube logo must say Raleigh, although I'm not sure that it would work from the other side - we can read our alphabet better when presented with just the top half of letters rather than just the bottom half, IIRC

This is correct.
We also read type that is at 90° (i.e., vertical rather than horizontal) better when it reads from the bottom up than from the top down. So the Raleigh logo is the 'right' way round to be read when shouldered in a CX race.
In Germany books are designed with the spine text reading bottom to top for this reason. In English for some reason we decide it's more important that the spine text should read the right way up with the front cover facing up.

No. We know that.
I just want to know at what point does lengthening the headtube start to negatively effect the stiffness of the frame?
With you on this Hugo.
I realise that the frame will have a miniscule amount more flex. But the real issuse is the headset placement.
How much do you think you can flex the headtube + steerer between the headset?
A: Feck allHow much can you flex 10cm+ of exposed steerer alone, using a 21cm or so lever?
A: A notable amount. This why an extended headtube is a far better solution (if less versatile), than a spacer stack.
The cleverest solution:

Not sure if it's anti, but it's trying a little too hard.

...I really like that idea. Although I’m a little dubious about the comparison at 1.36....
Even better would be if they supplied a set of spacers to match your frame when you bought it.
