sorry, not meaning to discuss my own bike, but pls tell me - what's wrong with it from ***practical ***point of view? i mean, it rides soooo well, in fact i was quite surprised when first got on it after building up

I guess all the standard things that get churned out here:

• geo and clearances could be achived with different shaped tubes, saving weight
  
• using risers on a low pro, just brings your position back to where it would have been if you had a higher headtube, and decreases stiffness
  
• no front brake for the road
  
  

Like I said I like it, regardless of any pure practical design reasons. If it only ever came down to what was the most sensible then we'd all be riding langsters with 28c tyres and drops with 2 brakes.

I especially love the matt black hojos(?) mudgaurds. I've always thought the beaten ones looked fugly and way OTT, but having them a matt colour adds a classiness. I also think a dark matt red would be good. Either way, it's given me some ideas for a future project.

Out of all the things wrong with this bike, it is the rear brake that bothers you? It's pretty normal and in fact not something you want to get rid of on a freewheel bike.
