They also look alright without a black stem.
;)

Maybe it does just need a silver headset. (And bar-tape.)
-
• #48529
And hubs and spokes (for me).
-
• #48530
Actually, yes. Hubs and spokes too.

Just noticed it's got a BMX chain

The LEJEUNE looks like it has been built by a blind person. All nice stuff no doubt, separate.

Changed my mind on the Lejeune.
imo it needs:
- silver headset
- silver spokes/hubs
- black straps
The rest works. Usually I'd shun the bar tape, but red's are such hard colours to match and that is a good match. And fwiw I love bar stem/silver bars.

Your point being what exactly? I know my 585 isn't pretty.

The Lejeune is ultra nice. Need silver parts? To make it look like every other boring classic build: yes. To make it look better: hellz no.

• #48538
I need this.

not seeing the "kool factor" in this bike
geometry is wacked:
steep seat tube; laxed head tube
parts don't go together
etc.
i would take the XB3 cranks though -

The headtube is too lazy yea, but do what hugo7 said and it gets a pass. I actually really like the tape.
Yea, and change the chain of course. And tyres.

nice bikes but sprockets too big, they look silly.

no
I got that the wrong way round with the fork, bah (hungover today). If you made the HT steeper you'd need even less rake to maintain the same amount of trail. Hard to tell because it's all at a bit of an angle, but the wheelbase looks short enough - you sure you'd want the front wheel closer to the DT/pedals? I mean, for reasons other than aesthetics.
