    How come?

    (Genuine question)

Really never got the appeal of Yamagughi's, I find most of them fugly but that green one is heavy.

  • Can anyone explain the benefit of this design - I don't get it?

  • Can someone explain the design rational of the seat stays of the black/pink yamaguchi?

Presumably there is some sort of advantage to having the seat stay attach half way down the seat tube (not sure what? but bikes like the Trek SC also have a very acute rear triangle) but that this set up is less rigid hence the support struts? If the extra stays are for rigidity is there a reason for them being bent other than aesthetics?

I really like the look but don't understand the logic?

    EDIT Beat me to it

  • nice colour tho......

1980's Colnago Mexico framset with fluted tubes, the top and the downtube. It shows four flutes/ crimps, instead of two like the well known Mexico. But it ain't a master, those tubes are very different. The downtube is a little wider then the top tube. The seat tube doesn't have flutes, its the same tube which is used for the Colnago Super, that's my guess. Also the steel is thicker compared to the fluted tubes. I love the hollowed out caps near the seat post. Also very nice hand painted accents on all of the tubes, a green on a silver stripe. Very beautiful! The framset is in original condition and free of any dents/ dongs or re-dones. The bars and stem are not period correct, i just like the shape of it. A perfect ride! The bike is located in The Netherlands.

  • Ummm, very nice but Readers' Wives is >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

  • I think it is fucking ugly. Forks look shit too

I can't believe it but I actually agree with nyquil. Why such long forks and such short head tube? Ruins it for me.

Mind you it could be good for snow clearance if you lived in say the Antarctic? :)

One of the nicest readers wives ive seen on here, deserves to be here but not posted by owner.

p.s change the saddle and put some bartape on and then definitely in here

Those cranks are interesting. I like that build. It's weird, mixed, but IMHO it comes out well.

  • I thought it was nice enough to embed

    Shhh

You are not meant to agree with him. My other half actually notifies me when she notices he has been posting as she finds his outbursts hilarious and the scorn he is treated with even more amusing.

I thought the bike was good, I am assuming they are suspension corrected forks to enable other forks to be used too.

  • Thanks Oz, i did something wrong i guess.

  • ^^ Even as a joke this sounds tremendously sad.

    oh my god, yes.

ill just pretend those aren't velocity's

  • Yamaguchi is an American company. Velocity sell a lot of rims in a US, so seems fitting to me. Plus deep vs make sense in the mud.

    in more than one way.

  • not keen on the bars, otherwise good effort

    they got this all wrong,
you have to go to the Flat-o-drome when the cricket and football is being played so you add a bit of spice to your ride.

  • All this is well Jackson. Bikes yeah?
    Proper mash up.

  • Shhh

Yeah, he can be pretty funny but I do sometimes find it a bit annoying, having to trawl through pages of that shit to find some actual bike porn. Could he have his own rant thread maybe? I'd subscribe :)

Suspension corrected forks makes sense. Still don't like the look of them tho. Would prefer to see it with suspension forks fitted. Then it'd be porn for me.

  • ^^^get rid of that surly cog ring SVP

Fair. Now if Nyquil had said it like that I would have had no objections.

  • [QUOTE=toby.d;2103792]

Has that got Tynans anti theft paste on the TT?

I've never thought of holding a bike in a stand like that either.

  • ...may also try to humiliate you by pretending to be a black gay rapist marine and tearing your backdoor open.

    lol
