These are the supposed numbers that you save with dedicated time trial equipment as opposed to normal road gear. The numbers are calculated for a rider over 40kms at a time of 48minutes (which I for one can't dream of doing by the way). It might be a bit oversimplified to state it like this but it does illustrate how relatively little an aero frame contributes to the overall aeroness of a bike+rider.

I love that shoe covers make more of a difference

Even more than a rear disc FFS. Which make me think a non-aero frame with a aero seat tube/post, is all about looking fast. The air back there is just too dirty.
I actually use shoe covers a lot. As standard roadie disco slippers, are too ventilated for scandinavian climes. Did'nt realise they were the source of my awsome pace.

A nice track bike to compensate for all the nerdy tech talk. Possibly not out'n'out porn, but I like it.

I cannot possibly make that judgement for you. The objective performance gain over a cheap but well designed 30mm alloy wheel like a Shimano RS30 is quite small, but I have no way of knowing whether that gain is worth the price difference of typically £600 to you.
I just bought a pair of these (RS30's) for training wheels. Brake rub under accelerating load is a significant problem.

do you have deep section wheels? Ever ridden them in a crosswind?
Having a front disc would be like attaching a sail to your handlebars

I thought this was a common problem. I sat behind a guy running low end Shimano wheels. For a fair bit of a 1.5km mountain climb. Dont know about him, but the squeaking from his brake rub certainly irritated me.

glad I didn't buy the Merckx with RS20's - especially given i'm not the lightest person
we should probably stop talking about this - it will anger the porn-fiends.. there hasn't been a generic but rare lugged steel track frame with unrealistic bar angle for almost a whole page

Could'nt you just crank up the spoke tension some?
TBH I dont own any OTP wheels, so I might be being thick here.

probably - all a bit academic now. The Roval's don't flex at all :)

AFAIK anything over 25mm depth needs to be UCI appoved for road racing. But there is no offical limit. Cant imagine any front disc's getting approval though.

I did say that a the high end wheelset was a deal 'clincher'.
See what I did there^
