I've been racing on hilly courses in Denmark.
But somehow you're right, as I was able to stay in the pack and wasn't dropped. So, couldn't be that high. Still a few decameters elevation though.
But how about the Baltic states?

pffft my driveway has an elevation of 8m.

Although my Danish boss (also a cyclist) is always quick to point out, that it is very windy in Denmark, and that riding into the wind, is like riding up a hill. I just smile. Hes my boss afterall.
