What kind of frames are the orange ones? I still preffer the first one. I think if it lost the logo'd regal and the edge stickers on the wheels it would be perfect. I'm really into the sram red groupo too. So much nicer than dura ace (although the power tap's pretty wild).

It's even the size of a maxcrowe bike

I rather the orange one, but without stickers, please
-
• #35737
there's about a million stickers on those rims. And with ugly bar tape, stem, saddle and crankset.

The bike in the lower pic is meant to have modern parts?
Threaded headset is modern?
Effort people!
-
• #35739
oz,
now you've mentioned it, it looks like an ahead onto a threaded headset ?
Puzzling.
Must be an extender, or I'm missing something.
-
• #35740
It's a threaded headset & steel fork, with a 'modern' looking quill stem.
-
• #35741
I can't see the bolts. Looks like it has a funky design though.
-
• #35742
In that case what stem is it ?
-
• #35743
Probably ControlTech

That cockpit looks far too cramped for climbing, so why the triple?
Poor position for the climb back up surely makes it even more imperative to have the low gearing
Exactly.
Although, I dont really like that particular build of the frame. The frame has a lowish BB (for a AM bike), to further expliot the fact that all the pivoting gubbins is around the BB. To give a low center of gravity and nice handling (or so the hype says). It also has an idler pully in the upper chainstay to prevent pedal bob. Given it has the tabs for it. I'd run one of these.
(and, OK Gabe, bar-ends to get the most out of the up and down qualities of the frame. But dont tell anyone) -

Possibly a slightly different model, but I'm pretty sure I see a ControlTech logo on the one on the bike

Ooof!
^ those wheels aren't my thing, but yes, I think that is what I was getting at.
Oh and in hindsight, I'll conceed it isn't really a classic style, its just got lugs... and the main thing stopping it from being porn is the frame.
