I remember the very first Concorde racing bikes. Used by the dutch sponsored amateur team "Expert". Must have been 1981 or so.
These bikes also had this gold coloured plating. I think it was copper or so.
Paint was also black, but "golden" decals.
If I'm correct, they had serious quality problems with the plating (falling off).
Never seen again after the 1st season.
I would love to get one of these 1st years Concordes. -

Hmmm, lugged frame + ahead + external bb.
Not my cup of tea.Think about what the bike is for. Think about how the owner may have wanted the frame. Think about how much better the Ahead and BB are for the intended purpose.
Then look at the bike, oh yeah, it still looks nice. Win.
Ahead sucks
Are you insane?

That is nice, would love a pair of Zipps but can't afford nor justify them. What's the fork? Looks a bit like a Pace style carbon MTB one (I know it isn't though)

It's a Wound Up fork.

Hey, my bikes!
I was assured the Concorde is gold plating, not "gold", but until I put an XRF onto it to confirm I won't know for sure. I'll hit part of it with some thinners to see if it's cromovelato first. It's certainly not copper/brass etc, the lustre is all wrong. Funny thing is, the entire frame is gold under the paint, there's a chip on the HT showing gold, the FD braze on also.
The seatstay caps are panto'd 'Jubileum', so it's an anniversary edition of some kind and the gold indicates a 50th. The Classic Rendezvous mailing list and an ex Concorde employee from Weight Weenies forums know nothing about it.
The frame's currently being built with a lightly used 6400STI group. The Andretton is also on the build list, but my Hetchins comes first.
