Yep.

I'm pretty sure that putting the clamp screws in front of the steerer is a fundamentally flawed design, as anybody who has owned a Cinelli Alter/Integralter/Angel will confirm. You end up trying to bend the whole stem body to achieve clamping, rather than just bending the thin walls of the clamp itself as you do with a normal stem. If you must keep it clean and knee friendly, use a wedge clamp like Thomson, not a hoop tension clamp.

Going to send an email off to BMW then? I'm sure they'd be happy to hear criticism.

BMW* aren't in the business of great engineering, they're in the business of selling hyped product to wankers, and are doing fine without my help.
*Both kinds.

Er, maybe it's because I'm new, but I'm confused -there seems a lot of gears of some of these bikes for a fixed gear site?!

Yep you joined a year too late. It's all about old geared bikes now.

tend to agree, it doesn't seem like a great approach. I suppose they could minimise the effect by making tolerances very low but then it may not fit over some steerers where tolerances are all to cock!
Have you thought about writing to Brooklyn?

you should send a private message to RPM, he know the scene (i.e. meet up for learning how to skid), he have some awesome fixie (brakeless too!) for you to check out.
Or MrSmyth for that matter, he's great for that.

Send it to Max, he'll be all confused. On the one hand, he'll want to rattlecan it black, and on the other hand he might not want to spray over his name on the tubing decals.

I really don't get this whole "gears are the new fixed gear" thing... they're not though are they? fixed bike great for commute, a laugh or maxing training if you're short on time. Geared bikes are better for proper hilly adventures.
I've found my power and cadence improve loads from riding fixed, and it helps when I get back on my gears. I'm not going to stop riding either...

That because it was a piss take on most of the forumenager who have geared bicycles now.

Ah right, I thought it was a joke at first but peoples keep repeating it...
You'll end up scaring away all the fixie hipsters with images of complicated looking downtube shifters and cassettes...

Would that be such a bad thing?
I can appreciate the build quality of that (routing is lovely) and it's objectively quite nice in an industrial sort of way but I'm struggling to think of a bike that it would go with.
