  • Tom Kellogg Spectrum.

  • they are just bars without any tape on them i.e bare metal no tape

so does that mean instead of putting the tape on the bars, no effort has been made to fit tape?
I was confused by the highly reflective metallic foil-like surface of the bare metal.

  • Wishbone stays should have the form of a pitchfork, not a trident. Surplus metal fail. Shame,as the rest of it is quite nice.

  • Yes, odd design. With the join of the stays that high up avoiding the trident would have given a huge clearance/gap which would have looked even worse.

Some people seem to think bars with no tape look good. I suppose if wearing good gloves then tape may not be required, but I prefer a nice tape and no gloves.

  • Some guy near Stratford on Avon is making titanium frames with a view to fixed builds. I met him and his family whilst riding and stopped to chat about his bike, turns out he made it himself.

Who is it? Was it an ex-Pashleys, ex-Saracen or ex-Farr Metal Works (or whatever they were called) guy?

  • Company is called 'Spin cycle works' forgotten his name, only seem to sell on ebay.

  • spectrum: the little extra bit of metal is ideal for fitting a boss to attach a flint catcher. no use on the track but on the road i think it could look quite bespoke and luxurious.

  • If it was built for optional road use, it would have brake drilling. This junction with more braze area looks better

  • if every bike intended for track use was only used on the track, shoreditch streets would be empty, there would be more njs frames in japan than they would know what to do with and, and, and........

    sorry if i missed something

  • Damn that BMC is nice.

Those photos make me dizzy! Is he actually making the frames, or just badging up XACD frames? The wording in the ad is fairly ambiguous on who actually makes them, and mentions the frames being delivered in its 'original packaging'.

  • Frame looks cool but those cranks are made of cheese.

  • Shall we have a bit more porn?

  • What the fuck is this, Antiques Roadshow?!

  • I'm sorry Maxy, here you go, are you happy you little trollop? are you?

  • Haha, that's quite nice actually.

  • Dick

  • Not seen many in that colour nowadays.

  • They look surprisingly OK in normal frame sizes. Apart from the fork, obviously.

    Ti in the sky haw-haw!

When I met him he said 'we make them' but then, you would say that wouldn't you...
so I din't know. That is the one he was riding with his GF/wife and kids (mostly on fixed)

The XACD ti track frame i not the same as this, the welding generally looks to be of better quality, the seat stays on the XACD frame have no curve and the dropouts aren't as nice IMO.
