Normally you have such great taste in bike but i really must object this time.

1. Why choose that frame to run ss? There are plenty of Klein frames with horizontal drops if you want to go ss.
   
2. Who the hell goes fast enough on a ss xc bike to require a 4 or maybe even 6 pot front brake?
   
3. On the subject of brakes, the rear caliper doesn't look like Hope though the lever clamp (just visible on bar) does look like Hope, frankenbrake?
   
4. Period sympathetic seatpost and saddle but nothing else? Cranks, chain tensioner and forks in particular look far too modern for the frame.
   

1.The owner has owned that bike since new and still rides it geared at times.
2.It's a 4 pot which you may not understand the need for but that doesn't mean that it's not a valid option. Again, the rider has owned it since new and upgraded various parts at different times to suit his needs.

1. The rear brake is a 2 pot hope. You need to pay more attention to detail or learn more about older mountain bike parts before trying to rip on things for being franken-bikes.
   4.Why do you get the impression that the owner was trying for a period build? Surely the Seatpost, saddle and indeed frame are just components that the owner actually likes.
   
   

Overall, that doesn't look like a build put together with the hope of achieving porn status, it looks like something thrown together from what was handy and functional.

Because I don't need gears, I've had the bike since new, converted it to SS two years ago.
The front brake is fucking sick, and I got it cheap.
The rear caliper is a hope.
The frame is a 2002 klein, how are the forks too modern?

Oh, and that seatpost bent, and it now has a thomson. Does that suit your fussy needs?
