They should, if they are lo-lo-pro
-
• #31078
that lo-pro would actually be very un-aero if you rode on the drops, your back would be at a ridiculous angle.

looking forward to seeing you build up that Makino Velocio, i was the person bidding against you for it but drew the line at $1000 :)

Just about to say, I won it but now what. Here's hoping that clamp-on brakes can fit the forks and that my girl will love it (as it doesn't fit me).
I was a bit rash buying it. I seldom to never win things, but I usually never attempt to buy things when I'm so broke.
This was just soooo beautiful. I had to see it if possible :)

clamp-ons should fit, just get the dia-compe aero profile, if it doesn't a simple retro fit should do the job
also if you think about selling it again ill buy it off you :)

Time to extract a tithe from the forumengers. Demand tributes in things stamped NJS. It is the only way.

If you're in London I might just pass it on directly. I shouldn't have bought something I can't afford to build up. It will be sitting around for ages.
That said, I'll see whether my girl likes it first. She wants a geared bike, but her Thorn Audax would make a great geared bike so the idea is to get a nice fixed for her and convert the Thorn back to it's original purpose. I was fine hawking the Makino, but foolish in setting a top bid as high as I did, and you took me right to it ;) You should've said... we could've come to a deal :)

Autti gets first dibs if Fizz doesn't want it.
And that fits you? I didn't realise you were so short ;)
-
• #31092
My size too. I hope you don't get to heavily stung by customs for it.
-
• #31093
It's used, why would customs care?

Although, i would have all black bar tape :DRAD RAD RAD RAD. I reckon it's one of my favourite bikes I've seen on the forum.
I like the mismatched tape tbh.

I don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but all imports (new or used goods) from outside the EU are subject to customs duty and vat over a certain value.
This page seems to summarise it: http://www.valvesntubes.co.uk/eBay-Import-UK

I got stung for import duty AND post office handling charge on a slightly rusty very second-hand frame;made it not very good value.I hope and pray yours passes under the radar!

useful and disheartening information, good to know
-
• #31098
What about the old trick of listing it as broken, for repair, which won't get taxed
-
• #31099
you can just ask the guy to state the value of the frame at like 40 bucks. Yeah, spares or something.

AFAIK, you are committing a crime if you instruct a sender to undervalue the goods on the customs declaration.
lo pros shouldnt have drops ever.
