  • Yamaguchis and triple triangles... anti!

    +1

  • it says custom on the top tube, but it still has the stupid bent Thomson post and a big stack of spacers. I thought the whole point of custom was to get something which fits.

Yeah. It is a custom but I think the owner is just content with having spacers and a flat angled stem. To be fair, he may have chosen the layback post because those Brooks saddles don't go back very far on the rails, and he may like his bum to be quite far back over the BB for comfort. You may say "but then why didn't he get a more relaxed seat tube?" Maybe he didn't want to ruin the geometry of the bike and still be able to use it for other things, such as track racing.

-1 don't say that, i think triple trangles are nice, plus just shelled out on a gt edge.

  • mdcctester

both serotta and mather suggested i use a layback seatpost when speccing frames for me, never even thought to question why

  • jambon is it you who has that purple GT one on the ride east 4 and marathon ride?

  • probably just going to get shouted at, but what the...

  • ^ i see what you did there

Read what I posted, may be the reason why.

  • jambon, nice avatar. Keep this one.

  • too many logos/typical new tt bike??
I like... though definitely would strip off the felt stickerss...

  • Keep this one.

yeah i'll try to stick with one longer than a week, mozza is amazing,
went to see him last year and got a shred of his shirt that he threw into the crowd. yes i'm that cool

naa it's a titanium frame with full dura ace, was on us ebay last week

  • Wow, look at the chain ring on that felt.

this bike only exists to go fast, why are you looking at it thinking 'wow, this would look nicer if I took all the stickers off'?

  • The sponsor's names need to be on the bike.

  • obviously, I'm just saying, I like it, but it would look cleaner with just the garmin colours on it. But yes, I completely agree it is merely built for speed not looks.
though you'd probably shave a gram or two by taking the stickers off ;]
    (I kid)

  • I'm surprised (well, not really, but you know what I mean) that the UCI let them use the obviously non-structural fairing over the chainring.

  • I'll give the garmin-transitions team a call and say 'oi, you fucked david millar over today, get rid of those stickers and you will teach those italian cunts a lesson'.

  • it is nice how the modern frames integrate stuff like seatclamp, headset and frameforks.
thought i'd state the bloody obvious

  • Lance has the best TT bikes...

  • sLim, you're on the ball.

Lance does have some amazing bikeses. But that's 'cos he does collaborations with various artists for his 'Live Strong' foundation and so forth..

  • both serotta and mather suggested i use a layback seatpost when speccing frames for me, never even thought to question why

Possible reasons include an unwarranted obsession with keeping the chainstays short, forcing a steep seat tube angle, and allowing for you to move forward in the future. If you start with a straight seat post, you can only really go back from there with various amounts of layback, whereas if you start with a medium layback post you have a fair amount of wiggle room. I don't object to posts which have a bit of lay back per se, I just think the Thomson version is staggeringly ugly.

  • Lance has the best TT bikes...

    And the worst paint jobs.

The Trek Speed Concept is pretty tidy though

  • This is nice, shame the owner taped the wrong part of the bars, though...

  • I'm looking forward to seeing the filth lance rolls out in this years TdF. I thought this was cool...

Riding a bike like that and finishing middle of the bunch is not so cool though...
