What dya recon...
I know that the Cinelli Mash is an Ali frame made to look nice with more money slapped on it cos they put some MASH SF graphics on it and that Profile Racing are a hardcore BMX company spreading back fuck loads a years, but this pic is pure, un-adulterated sex.
You also notice in the bike porn section i used a number of lines which are a bit sordid!

I once ate play dough as a kid, when I shat it out it looked like that hub.

Best mash build I've seen; it's out of focus, so you can't see the shit graphics, and distorted by perspective so your sensibility isn't assaulted by the shit geometry.

I like the headset spacers and stem rise the most.

Nice, repost or not.

look heavy as fuck though.
IMO if your that bothered about how smooth the drive surely it would be easier to just clean your chain often, rather than add a million kilos to the weight of your bike :)
**
then again i've never ridden a belt drive, so ignore me...**don't knock it till you try it.
I though my current set-up is the quietest and smoothest, until I've a spin on the Trek District belt drive bike, the quietest and smoothest chain is noisy in comparison.

That is a phenomenal bike.
http://www.englishcycles.com/bikepics/rob/robtt.htmThe way the frame, forks, and bar set-up is specifically designed to put the contact points of a specific rider in exactly the right places (if you happen to have extra vertebrae), makes it pure porn for me.

Yes sir.

Belt driver are lighter than chain drives
....and smoother as the belt has no moving parts (well one flexing part)
oh. how, may i ask?
The chainring and sprocket are made of a thermosetting resin (think melamine kitchen surfaces, very hard, and very light), and the belt is carbon reinforced plastic. the whole system saves 100s of grams.
Just the Phil ones.
Maybe that's for the MTB crowd? Heavy as fuck by the look of it. It's not like the ones made by Gates aren't strong enough to do the job well.I would say the Gates beltrings are definitly tough enough to do the job. As I was trying to say in my previous post. The Gates beltring has large cut outs to shed small stones etc. These have proven to solve this issue, when using the belt system off-road. I havent used the Phils, but the lack of any method of clearing shite from between the teeth, doesnt appeal. So I would say the Phil set-up is for the road riding crowd. The fact that you dont use oil, would mean you would get very little debre build-up from road riding (I'd imagine)
doesn't carbon wear really quickly?
or does the belt massively reduce wear?
and just so i understand: is the belt made of rubber? Its more of a flexible plastic, heavily embedded with directional carbon fibres for strength. There is no carbon in contact with the Beltring/sprocket. Just how the system stands up to foreign abrasives from off-road riding, is something I find out soon enough, I suppose.
all cars run a belt drive for the fan/radiator cooler. that will put in far more many miles than some guy on a bike.
they are not totally made of rubber, they're usually cloth embeded.
they are far lighter than a steel chain.
there is very little stretch. These are inclosed though, so function in a cleaner enviroment.
There is zero stretch. (OK theoretically nothing gives 0 strain for a given stress, but its undetectable)I've yet to properly test my set-up. But spinning the cranks and riding back and forth in the work room, indicates a very smooth, and very stiff, drive chain.

won't the belt go hard and become unblexible if it isn't used regularly?

No.
PS: Are you a troll?
Carbon belts have been used in cars and on motorcycles for ages. There are no problems with them, though the bikes have to be designed with them in mind (the belt cannot be broken, so to get it on the bike you have to break/de-couple the rear triangle).
