^^^ And Goeltz' bike looks way too big.
No need to talk about arodynamics.
In those these, these were the ultimate bike. And for some of us, they still are.Best thing is, that amateurs were probably better than pro's. Especially the sprinters.

awesome video.. wish I knew what they were saying though
around about 3:30 what was the dude in blue thinking? i mean, i think i know that he wanted to go high and then cut through on the inside. but thedude in white didn't move off the red line and just kept blasting it.
i expect to hear similar tales from Tarck day.

That blond canadian dude is like an archetypal sports-movie villain! Sticking his elbow out like that. Got what he deserved.

"That blond canadian dude" is the great Gord Singleton. Use of the elbow was part of the sport in those days.

I know this is definately a repost since it belongs to a member of this forum but the thread I found it in was from a year and half ago and this still looks lovely.
I'm not usually into the matchy-matchy look but this has been done so well it really works (I'll even ignore by distaste for adonised bits).
I also like it because it manages to look a bit different/individual, yet comfortable/practical (I'm looking at the Ergostem/bullhorn combination) whilst remaining a little bit classic.
Not so keen on the Ergostem's replacement though...

I suspect the Nitto stem is merely for swapping between bikes, like his De Rosa.
I'm not keen on some of the component either (stem, bullhorn, tyres), but I'm pretty sure he enjoyed riding that Merican and that's pretty much all that matter.

TBH, the welds don't look as tight as the earlier models and they've painted the carbon forks - which doesn't lessen them but why paint carbon?
Real Quality Carbon frames & forks actually look pretty much black, that woven looking stuff is just stuck on the outside to make it look more carbony to the consumer.

Does anyone know of anybody in london who can do a paint job like the one in Donut!'s* pic?*
Search for Sam Fish or ask Harry Major for his details. And p.s. . . . wrong thread!
