The way I understand it, it doesn't matter which manufacturer it come from, as long it's the right strength/thickness?
thats true. However, my point was that Columbus had a 100 piece min and Reynolds a 30 piece min. The difference between the 2 matierials wasnt significant in weight or strength. I opted to not have the cash outlay for 100 and went for the 30.

why would anyone get a custom frame made then, we wouldd all be riding off the peg bikes made in asia.
Ha! because some folks see value in the handcrafted, bespoke bicycles. Not everyone mind you, but some. Its still not all about style. They might get them for fit reasons, or ride quality or they just want something different.

I think you're mistaking style for aesthetics. If you're buying a spendy custom bike, you want it to look awesome, not just function to perfection. Your bikes look beautifully made, but (and I stress, IMHO) are ruined by the horrific decals.
Then again, I guess if I was to order a custom bike from you, I could chose the decals?

Don't expect a reply.I can see why you might not be inclined to reply, given the flaming you're likely to get if you keep spamming this thread. Yes, spamming. Amusing as it might be to discuss the difference between readers' wives and readers' daughters, your posting of your own product in this thread constitutes an unsolicited commercial communication.

Don't post your bikes in the bike porn thread if you can't take the (note, not fucking with you..) critical response. And don't expect to drum up any business acting like a big baby.
Why post your photos on a forum at all if not to spark discussion? rolls eyes

i think it also functions as a storage of spare spokes.
really??? that is fucking inspired.
This method has been around for a while. Its mentioned in an old frame building book I have. Very few builders do it though. Its a nice touch. The only problem is if you change wheels to a drastically longer or shorter spoke length.

Perfect, 58 top tube and 56 seat tube please Don,
that's nearly team colours and I want to race in the nationals next season. There's no other Don Walker frames being ridden in this country on tracks at all SFAIK. In fact I'm pretty sure nobody even knows about you outside this forum! -
