is it correct to use a wooden spoon with a teflon non-stick frying pan or should i find an appropriate polymer-based spatular? please help.
You god damn hipster with your 'vintage NOS' wooden spoon. It is people like you who are ruining egg frying for 60 year old colectors everywhere.

And you Eddie seem to be missing the point that not everybody cares as much about the way a bike looks as a whole.
People do sometimes build bikes by choosing each component based on seperate criteria...be it aerodynamics, strength, weight, and yes...even looks.
It's completely acceptable to fall in love with a japanese track frame...a vintage campag crank...a pair of modern carbon rims...a chub rear hub...phil wood front hub...chris king headset...plastic saddle...thick puncture proof tyres...and then build that into a complete bike.
Sure, it may not look how the japanese frame builder envisaged it....or Tulio Campagnolo saw his cranks used...but does that make it wrong?
I've always built my bikes based on what I personally want them to be like.
I've mixed up every component going at some point...whether it was 'intented' to go with the rest of the parts or not....and my favourite bikes have always had choices that other people disliked...but i've always been happy with the end result. To say you can only use parts that are 'supposed' to go together is ridiculous.
What marks us out as individuals is our ability and desire to express ourselves in whichever way we choose...regardless of what others think. So feel free to laugh at my bike for whatever reason....but don't bother trying to tell me that it's 'wrong' for any reason...because it's MINE....not yours!
Now go ahead and take a swing if you like...xxx

Right! this is all the proof I need! Ourys are back in! Champs are out. Burn your Champs, get your Ourys back on! I've kept my Ourys all this time, suffered ridicule from Champ er champions. Who's laughing now? Eh? They said i was crazy, a fool, but i knew the day would come. This is my moment. My shining moment. Don't ruin it for me. Let me savour the taste etc. Yesss!
that's right, ourys are back in. they're once again the low-performance/high-irony grip of choice for famous internet cyclists such as that one from NYC, that guy with the beard from LA and all those video-making cats from SF. And to think i nearly threw mine out! they're red too so they match all my other jams.
for maximum steezy points though check out oars.

I dont have a lot of money to spend on bike building, so I take my time and try to relish every component purchase. I tend to lust over vintage NOS parts, as well as uber light'n'stiff modern carbon/titanium parts. If I only ever planned to build one bike in my life, it would be the mother of all mongrels, but I'd love it ;)
