Sure, they look nice, but will they hold spoke tension, or handle a bump in the road? Form over function, not on a hub please.
Are they worse than the road version? I've got 'Sheriff Star' road hubs on my lo-pro, and before that they were on my hack bike for years. As I understand it, they only fall apart if you fail to lace them tangentially.

ridden my sheriffs stars for over a year now, not had any complaints. i love them. smooth as fuck. a mate of mine rode his for ten years, until his wheels were nicked earlier this year. he was a courier for some of that time, so put some serious miles on them.

It is a lovely frame. Take off those silly risers, whack on some nice chrome drops, change the (ugly) radial spokes on the front, and bob's your uncle.
