Have I missed something here? This looks like some any old thing that could be bought on Amazon. Happy to be corrected if someone can tell me what is bikeporn about this.

It barely merits discussion - some noob has made an appalling faux pas, second only to posting his own bike.

I imagine most forum users' first FG or SS looked extremely similar to that... So maybe no need to be too harsh. Mine was a Pompino - functional but no fashion disasters :P

What are you 9?
I like the bike, isnโt that what this thread is for?
-
• #102662
On first instinct yes.
Further reading will show it is a strict museum of antique, preferably lugged, usually steel pipes. ๐

The thread is partly for drawing others' attention to bicycles of exceptional technical or aesthetic merit, but mostly for mocking the said selections when we regard the judgement of the poster as critically flawed.

a strict museum of antique
If the thread tends retrogrouchy, it's not simply because we're old, but because so many modern bikes, while technically excellent, are tragically ill considered aesthetically. This applies just as much to nouveau steel builders trying too hard and failing as it does to mass market plastic bikes which are rationally designed to appeal to people with money rather than taste.

Not sure I agree with the plastic bit.
Although I feel personally, thin gauge (steel) does lend itself to elegance in relative proportion to a 700c wheel.
There is still an under representation of post millenium bikes imo.

If I was a kid living in the us, that would probably totally float my boat and I'd end up posting it here as well.
