this is nice though
very unusual, similar to the Zero bike*, i like it though, i reckon the lack of a seat tube would give it suspension like quality. also old skl zipp disc's are lovely

I highly doubt it's (ultra) light weight credentials. You could make it lighter simply by using Aluminum for the frame and rims instead- Though that^^ material should last a lifetime where Aluminum's crystalline structure doesn't lend itself to long term usage. What you're looking at is obsessive, expensive, compulsive and single minded. Depending on the quality of the welding chambers used it has a great strength to weight ratio but most of all it is bloody rare. No rust/paintjob worries is a bonus.

it like the difference between a consumer product and an industrial product. This is industrial of course.

Brake Fail. Seriously...what is that?
I've seen some odd lever positions but this is summat else!As Getafix says.
I've seen that or similar somewhere else, the explanation was that he got a 100 dollar ticket for not having a brake. I think the idea is the brake is fitted so even if he has no intention of using it he is legal.
Not legal in the UK though, I'd like to point out.
He describes it as a 'ghetto brake'. Fitted so that he could save fine money for more pimp parts :(
Everyone loves a reach-around.....
From now I will always think of it as a 'reach-around-lever', priceless.

to me thats a bike to look at but not ride. Nice all the same, but that is a show-piece rather than a functional bike :)
I'm probably stating the obvious. -

I'm pretty sure there was an early (50s/60's?) Campag Pista set with QR hubs, It didn't last long though; a year or two if memory serves.

Good god, that isn't just different tyres and new bars in a flipped stem. That is basically a totally different bike with the same frame and chainset. That, right there, is a lot of money.

And I'd still rather ride that cheap old fashioned bent up hetchings bike, (in case anyone is throwing one away).
