Why the ding protector?

I concur

Because its rough like a ninja and stingy like a bee.

Why the ding protector?
Why indeed.
Although as BikeSnob points out. Should they wish to run 250mm stem or flip the risers to lowerers. A TT protector could be a real frame saver!

i have a top tube thingy with risers because sometimes i swap them and ride with drops. it's not rocket science! i very much doubt it's a trendy affectation if that's the implication.

Anyone know what the bar/stem combo is? Generic black 1 inch rising stem to sweeping risers?

Fair enough.
- the example above has an ahead stem, so bad example by me.
I do see this alot with what look to be more perminent set-ups though. Just looks like the owner has'nt thought it through to me.
My bars spin to hit my bottle holder. I am considering putting a bit of tape on it.
Pengy but practical ;)

http://www.sjscycles.co.uk//images/products/13101shimano_xl.jpgThe pads look different to me. Have they been changed? Why?
-
• #10114
I expect they have. Bad pads tend to be what let down cheap brakes...

Looks really nice, but doesn't the bell get i the way when you're holding the top of the bars?
Is it your bike? Readers' Wives?
-
• #10117
what frame is that anyways?
-
• #10118
Those drops look lovely in leather, but if you're near the brake you'll be holding bare metal and the bell will be in the way. Odd.

Thanks. The brake and bell work ergonomically. I hold the bars, my finger can cover the brake, the bell is well away.
-
• #10120
so it is your bike then?
-
• #10121
Yes. Have I broken the rules? Will I be told off?
-
• #10122
almost certainly.

...and spanked, mercilessly.

• #10124
Jolly good then.

No offence, many apologies. Each to their own.
