quite like that, heard it someplace before. They are rumoured to be in hexagon sun now, so expecting from fresh stuff from them by autumn I would guess, then they will probably retire properly what with family and life.

It must be quite easy really, pop off somewhere for a bit, make some music (albeit quite good music) get a shit load of money and then retire
Eigthball, I've never heard that before? not quite the same as there other stuff but i like it

haha eightball, my melted soundcard makes just about everything sound like its been played backwards and forwards through a tape machine to within an inch of its life, its like BoC are inside my computer :p
My mate got me into it about 7yrs ago on a roadtrip, he brought a bucket (yes a plastic bucket) full of Warp records artists, so started with teh current album of the time (geogaddi) then moved backwards, then got the newer stuff as it came out on vinyl (only 1 copy per store in most cases though its now more freely available), and in the last few months i've been regressing through their childhood back to those original elusive cassette albums.
Also into obviously mr RDJ, venetian snares, 4tet, portishead, wisp, dryft, knife/honeyiscool/fever ray (and whatver else she gets her swedish mitts onto) etc etc.I have no idea how much BoC actually make, they do virtually no marketing, just let the music speak for itself; though I think their distance between the music 'scene' and what they actually produce is their best feature, they create what they want, not what the audience wants; which is nice.
Saw royksopp launched their new album not long back, they tried to satisfy the dancy end of the spectrum with junior, which was great, then needed to satisfy everyone else they made senior which is a lot more lounge, but to me maybe not as great as it could be.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ChZ4H8XHTM4&feature=related
Boards - Audiotrack 16
I think this is pre-old tunes, so made maybe 88-92? A lot of their stuff recycles the same samples, but I'm not complaining.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VAVL6TQuIuU&feature=mh_lolz&list=FLF8voCXfjJr8
&v=VAVL6TQuIuU
Audiotrack 14 is a stronger tune, just wish it was longer, and harder. -

re: Royksopp - I loved Melody AM, but they've not really done it for me since. A couple of tracks on Senior maybe, but I think they went a bit too 'Groove Armada' too smooth, too quickly for me - they were doing some pretty interesting stuff on that first LP that personally I don't think they have bettered (yet)
This is the other Hell Interface 'cover/remake/remix' call it what you will - is it really BoC? I don't know - does it matter?!

Boards - XYZ
Ridiculous track, though the later 1/3rd gets a bit repetitive, watch out for Mr Peel bellowing at the start! Fuck I miss John Peel sessions, he brought so much great music to our attention, he could never be replaced.
I can just imagine driving home, late at night, summers eve, its warm still, then this comes out over the airwaves. Like some of the other stuff John brought to my attention i would have had to pull over, crank it and enjoy. (I found Portishead in this manor, it was Only You @ god knows what time, had to literally pull over to fully appreciate the full thing).http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yEI3aXlgt6Q
Wisp - Seaway Trail
