My current earworm is Sufjan Steven's "You Are the Blood"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cVVd1mxBZ7k
It's a contribution to the brilliant compilation "Dark Was the Night". Normally I'm very wary of charity albums but this absolutely kills.
The song also reminds me how much I like songs that are sad, creepy, depressing... and somehow inspirational. Beck's "Chemtrails" is a good example...

This is from waaaaayyyy back in the day. Brings back a big smile. Those were the days when I was always being stopped by people in the street by people who thought I would have hash to sell. I had my hair in long twists then. ;) Yes, absolutely true.

Thanks- I liked the Vetiver version but had never heard the original.
cool. as of sunday there now exists the "dooks version". I might re-do the vocal before unleashing it on the 2 dozen people left on myspace though... i was heavily under influence of daynurse at the time. "dis dummer i wend dwimming, dit dummer i might have drowned" etc.

You've mentioned it; now you'll have to post it on here. :-)
Is there a thread for people's original music anywhere? I don't spend too long trawling this forum, as I don't live in London (that's gradually changing though). If not, I someone should start such a thread. I would only I don't record anything (or play much either).

Godspeed You! Black Emperor are curating ATP in december, no fucking way! This week has been amazing for festivals, first Swans at Supersonic and now this. Mike Watt, Tim Hecker + The Ex also on the line-up, beyond phenomenal.

Joy Division. how did they escape my attention before now?
i guess Ian Curtis died when i was still into fishing and scalextric so i missed them first time round and was never really into New Order
'love will tear us apart' was used as motorway motovational music on my tour of flanders trip and the film about Ian was on telly last night.
