Not sure it's helping my drawing but it is awesome Braxton, Dresser, Crispell and Hemingway in the zone.

did you cry at Maid in Manhatted Dooks?
nothing wrong with off beat US rom coms (added the Off beat there as this has no Jlo in)
Never seen it, it looks like utter shit. I did however play on the music that opens that trailer. I was defending indie music against the malevolent suggestion that it's only created for the purposes of soundtracking adverts and episodes Skins by pointing out that personally, I only create music for the purposes of advertising terrible films i'm never going to want to watch.
EDIT - the Made of Manhatten trailer not Garden State. I am not in the Shins. I love the Shins although they are one of the least charismatic live bands i've ever seen. Brilliant but somehow dull.
EDIT2 - Although by coincidence, an old friend of mine IS on the Garden State soundtrack. Imogen Heap is on there doing something or other. I'm not sure what. I don't like her music. She doesn't like mine either so that's cool. We're not THAT close any more I have to say... can you class someone as a friend when you haven't spoken for three years and the mention of their name or coming across their picture in a magazine or record shop makes you a little annoyed?

I threw Maid of Manhatten in there to check your knowledge of chick flicks.. you got to tread carefully on the internet..
There is a third purpose for indie, and that is to give middle class teenagers some noise and paper deep lyrics to mope about to in their rooms with their Che posters.
There are American indie bands whose music is so drab you can see them going through pain of having to play it. you can almost see the "god i wish i was sat at home with a good cup of tea" thoughts passing across their faces. My brother in law loves UK Indie but the sheer volume of the new bands leaves me sticking by my 4 album rule... come back to me when the band have it out.
That said i woudn't have discovered the Bees if it wasn't for them.. very talented bunch..on friends... if you can drop it, drop it. i walked past Simon Cowell in Selfridges and there are times where my behavoir would have you believe he is on my christmas list*
*If my christmas list was a list of people i was going to send my own excrement to
