scott not scot i'm not disputing the fact that there are loads of quality popular albums....i'm merely saying that popularity doesn't always mean it's good.....eg.any of the manufactured,made for money shite that's out there today...

agreed. it was the other side of the debate that i thought odd. and this: "Surely if they are quality, then they will get popular" is idealism at it's finest.

I had a listen to one of their albums in the stock room at work (not 'cool' enough for the shop floor) and it was very good. I'm going to try and pick a couple of their LPs when I'm in London on Tuesday.
